founder of Walking Therapy
Walking Therapy combines walking with Counselling, Psychotherapy and Coaching that takes place in a natural outdoor setting. Walking outside can help you feel less ‘under the spotlight’ and more at ease, in contrast to sitting inside a therapy room, and helps re-establish your connection with nature. Research studies have recently proven that walking, talking and physical movement vastly reduces symptoms or stress, anger, anxiety, depression and work stress otherwise known as ‘burnout’. Walking Therapy is a way to get you to listen to yourself openly and honestly, and will help you regain personal clarity.
Therapy and you
Walking Therapy will provide peace of mind, inner confidence and resilience, a greater personal sense of well-being, and increased self-awareness. Fully engaging in the therapeutic process helps reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, anger and stress, and provides clarity, support and guidance during times of bereavement or other life crises you may be currently facing.
Gain the skills outdoors and knowledge needed to become a ‘Walking Therapist’. Develop a deeper understanding on how to deliver each session in accordance to BACP ethical guidelines. Work outdoors while harnessing the psychological, physiological, spiritual and psychotherapeutic effects of walking in nature in order to help a wider range of clients.

“I came to meet Jonathan following an emotional and physical crisis.
Through his caring, non-judgemental, compassionate approach, I have developed an understanding of my emotional history and why my current feelings and behaviour were so confusing. I have come to terms with past events and relationships and can now exist in the present without fear. For the first time in my life, I am in control of me. I cannot recommend Jonathan enough for anyone who is considering counselling or psychotherapy as a way to explore their behaviour and feelings to achieve a happy, confident, present self." — J.S
