Welcome! I’m an established, Integrative Psychotherapist and published author in this field, and provide psychotherapy sessions both in person, or online.

In person, I provide Walking Therapy. This combines walking with Counselling, Psychotherapy or Coaching that takes place in a natural outdoor setting, helping you feel less under the spotlight, and more at ease. I have witnessed over the years, just how progressive this is, as it allows you to process feelings and emotions far more effectively.

I also provide, Online Therapy sessions, to help you to feel more at ease in the comfort of your home, or setting. If you lead a busy life or struggle to get outside or to physical appointments, or even live abroad, this is a great option to make my services accessible to you.

WHAT IS Walking Therapy?

Walking Therapy combines walking with Counselling, Psychotherapy and Coaching that takes place in a natural outdoor setting. Walking outside can help you feel less ‘under the spotlight’ and more at ease, in contrast to sitting inside a therapy room, and helps re-establish your connection with nature. Research studies have recently proven that walking, talking and physical movement vastly reduces symptoms or stress, anger, anxiety, depression and work stress otherwise known as ‘burnout’. Walking Therapy is a way to get you to listen to yourself openly and honestly, and will help you regain personal clarity.

About

Jonathan Hoban is a professionally registered member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (MBACP). He has specialised within the field of addiction, anxiety disorders, depression, anger management and trauma work, including treatment centres, where he has worked extensively over the last 10 years. He has had great success working with corporate companies around the U.K, predominantly in the City of London.

Jonathan has recently struck a major book deal with Yellow Kite, an imprint of Hodder & Stoughton called ‘Walk With Your Wolf’ a part-memoir, self help and life coaching book that explores the restorative power of nature. It examines how walking and reconnecting with nature can provide healing properties to those who suffer from a wide range of mental health issues.  His expertise on Walking Therapy is second to none and he is passionate about educating others via his Walking Therapy training course.

His theoretical approaches include; Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Attachment Theory, Child Developmental Psychology, Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Evolutionary Psychology. He is a fully qualified CBT – SMART Group Facilitator, and certified in Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy (REBT) & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). He is also currently affiliated with health insurance companies WPA, Cigna and Pru-Health.

Jonathan has been featured on prime time BBC London News and in numerous publications as an expert speaker including The Telegraph, Independent, Daily Mail, Guardian, Stylist, Vice and many more. He was recently a guest speaker on Talk Radio with Julia Bradbury, and LBC with Eddie Mair.
