WALKING THERAPY

Walking therapy can help us to regain some clarity in our lives

Walking Therapy can help simplify and solidify present thoughts and feelings that perhaps seem a little uncertain, providing you with an opportunity for personal growth.

Throughout our process, walking side by side in a natural setting you’ll no longer feeling ‘under the spotlight’. With guidance insight, I will encourage you to reflect upon who you are today, and help determine where in your life you still seek clarity or resolution.

As your therapist I”ll equip you with tools that help provide peace of mind, inner confidence and resilience, a greater personal sense of well-being, and increased self-awareness.

Nature provides a safe space to take a moment to breathe, think and reflect, in an environment where self-exploration and personal healing can take place. Each of us hold the key to our own sense of inner freedom. And for my part, it would be a pleasure to be a part of your journey.

take a step forwards

Walking and talking allows you to take the first step into changing your life for the better. Creating a safe and open space with which to do so.

psychological benefits

Walking Therapy helps to promote the release of dopamine, endorphins, serotonin, oxytocin, and adrenaline inside the body, helping you to relax, process your feelings more effectively, and encourages you to be more openly expressive in your body language.

natural benefits

As human beings, we feel naturally drawn to being outside, and have a deep connection with nature, inherent in each and every one of us. Nature helps reconnect us with ourselves, our environment and those around us, providing instant perspective. This helps release us from a ‘tunnel vision of stress’ that can afflict us, and provides us with ongoing stability.

physical benefits

Walking Therapy decreases blood pressure, and helps channel unwanted or negative feelings out of the body, reducing physical and emotional stress. In turn helping improve circulation throughout the body, carrying more oxygen and nutrients around the body, contributing to clearer thinking. Acting as a vital reminder to maintain and prioritise our self-care above anything else.

During my time as deputy head at King’s College School, a number of pupils truly benefited from Walking Therapy with Jonathan Hoban. There were times when the particular emotional needs could not be met by office-based counselling and Jonathan’s approach, rooted in the young people being active and outdoors whilst receiving expert counselling, was perfect at these times.”

The team members who have undergone sessions with Jonathan have reported that his direct and creative approach is engaging, insightful and brings depth to each session. They have also particularly enjoyed the specific approach of walking therapy as it gives them real space and time to think and reflect, which they don’t get in their daily lives. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone, who is seeking guidance in their personal and professional life, and looking for a more solution focused approach to therapy.”
